BROUGHT TO YOU BY

With regret, we are cancelling the 2009 Responsible Pork Symposium due to the challenging economic conditions facing all U.S. sectors today. The pork chain is no exception and is dealing with its own economic uncertainties.

When we started planning the Responsible Pork event in the early part of 2008, no one could have foreseen the dire circumstances that have since unfolded. We have heard from a variety of people that they just don’t have the money to commit to attending this year’s event. Furthermore, it’s important for many to stay home and manage their business and economic challenges.

Responsible Pork is intended to showcase the responsible actions that are taking place throughout the pork chain with regard to environmental stewardship, animal care and well-being, food safety and workforce management. These are critical areas for all sectors who supply pork to consumers in the United States and worldwide. It is important that producers, packers, retailers, veterinarians, government, associations, consumer advocates and others focus on these issues and continue the dialogue today and tomorrow.

Pork magazine is committed to being a part of advancing those constructive efforts in the future.

All registration monies will be returned. We appreciate your ongoing support.
